Gary “Cotton” Cleveland
July 18, 1952 – March 22, 2023
Gary E. “Cotton” Cleveland, 70, husband of Deborah Tomlinson Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
Born in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Jerry Ray Cleveland and the late Tommie "Pete" Lee Cleveland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brothers, Donnie Ray Cleveland & William Eugene Cleveland.
He served in the US Marines and was employed as a Contract Manager at Defender Services for over 29 years. He was a lifelong Clemson Tiger fan and enjoyed going to the games with his family.
Along with his wife of 35 years, he is survived by his daughter, Paige Nicole Cleveland (Blake Stansell), his close cousins, Michael Minyard & Louise Gurley, his nephew, Tony Cleveland and niece, Gail Cleveland as well as many friends who will miss him dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625. Rev. Allan Black will officiate. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held prior to the service in The Maple Room of The Standard from 1:00-3:00 pm.
