Obituary

(Gail Ellington) Gail Dean Ellington, 71, wife of Mike Ellington of Simpsonville, died Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.

Born in Anderson on June 20, 1949, she was a daughter of the late William “Bill” Dean and the late Dorothy “Dot” Finley Dean.

Gail was a retired bookkeeper/accountant with several Anderson and Greenville area law firms and advertisement agencies and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Mike Ellington, daughter, Amanda Kyzer (Richard), grandson, Will Kyzer and sisters, Linda McCoy and Paulette Henley (Sam).

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Heather Jones (Jason), David Henley, and her beloved Dachshund, Brandi.

Gail loved her pets tremendously and was preceded in death by her beloved Dachshunds - Peanut, Punkins, Cocoa, Graci and her Basset Hound, Patch.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11:00am in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd. Anderson, S.C. 29625. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

We were at the beach when we were young, we were playing with a beach ball when it went into the cactus plants. Linda and I went after the ball with our flip flops and could not move. Gail came after me. She picked me up and took me out of the cactus. She always told to baby sit Linda, Paulette, me and Jackie on Saturday nights while our parents went out to dinner on Saturday nights. She would cook herself a steak and us a hamburger steak! LOL! Smart girl. So much fun to be with. I have always loved her. So sorry for your loss. Bobbi
