Obituary for Frances R. Kuykendall
(Frances R. Kuykendall) Frances Roper Kuykendall, 98, widow of Charles Kenneth Kuykendall, of Anderson, died Saturday, October 8, 2022, at her home.
Born in Easley, S.C., on March 19, 1924, she was a daughter of the late William Parker Roper, and the late, Rosa Burns Roper.
She worked for a short time with Western Union in the Greenville office, and then started a 25-year career with Garretts Department Store in Anderson. She was a longtime member of Forest Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was the director of the W.M.U. for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Stone (Martin), of Laurens and Robin Finley (Douglas) of Anderson, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and her sisters, Rachel Ann Watson and Montez Farmer.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Ken and Alan Kuykendall, her brother, Rayford Roper, and her sisters; Sadie LeCroy, Millie Sue Cisson, Azilee Howard, and Betty Jo Kunz.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00pm, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson. Rev. Nicholas Kirby will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of The Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29621.
