(Floyd Berry) Floyd Granville Berry, 79, husband of Rebecca Roberts Berry, of Anderson, died Monday, August 1, 2022, at Regency Hospital in Greenville, S.C.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, on September 14, 1942, he was a son of the late Harry Orton Berry, and the late Alberta Mae Nolte Berry.
Floyd served 8 years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. After his time in the military, he started an extensive career with the telecommunications industry. For several years, he worked for Ohio Bell, before being transferred to South Carolina in 1974 to serve Southern Bell (now AT&T) as the South Carolina Manager of Special Services. He formerly served as the foreman for the Anderson County Grand Jury and was the President of the Anderson Good Neighbor Cupboard from 1995 until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Roberts Berry, sons; Billy Berry (Kimberly), Scott Berry (Bess), Jody Morrison, Jeff Berry (Jessica), and Jason Morrison, and daughter, Jennifer Fleming (Cody).
He is also survived by his grandchildren; Daniel Albertson, Ashley & Alex Berry, Heather Berry, Addison Berry, Harrison Berry, Kayla Berry, Laura Jenkins, Luke Jenkins, Annabelle Berry, Connor Morrison, Neil Morrison, Oliva Berry, and Abigail Fleming, 5 great-grandchildren, as well as his best friend, Don Velliquette.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Janet Epstein, and his brother, Bernard Berry.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm on Thursday, August 11, 2022, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Pastor Phil Sears will officiate, and burial will follow at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, at The Standard, prior to the service, from 11:30am -12:30pm.
