Obituary for Ethel McCoy

(Ethel McCoy) Ethel Mae Hart McCoy, 99, wife of the late Charlie McCoy, of Honea Path, S.C., died Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Anderson County on February 16, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Marcus Eugene Hart, and the late Verena Kelly Hart.

She retired as a seamstress and was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church in Honea Path, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the sanctuary choir as long as her health permitted.

She is survived by her brother, Franklin D. Hart Sr., as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers; R.L. Hart, David Hart, Louie Hart, James Hart, Millard Hart and W.C. Hart, and her sisters, Sara Pearson and Catherine Pearson.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Garden of Memories, 151 Garden of Memories Rd., Belton, S.C. 29627. Pastor Mark Krieger will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of The Upstate 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29621.
