Obituary for Elsie Richardson
(Elsie Richardson) Elsie Irene Griffin Richardson, 87, wife of the late George Arnold Richardson, died Saturday, October 22, 2022, at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, S.C.
Born in Fayetteville, Tennessee on February 11, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Charles Adrian Griffin and the late Arlie Mae Lee Griffin.
She retired from Day Care, and was a member of UpState Church of Christ, Anderson, S.C. She enjoyed trips to the beach, mountains and being with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Wholey, grandchildren; Richard A. Wholey Jr., Steven J. Wholey, Nathaniel A. Wholey, special granddaughter, Shawn Renee Dempsey, Christopher Spears, Terance M. Richardson, Cosette Richardson, and Lindsay Richardson, five great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings; Lee Tatum, Charles Griffin, Lorene Mitchell, Blanche Lawson and Shirley Ann Day.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Forest Lawn East Cemetery 3700 Forest Lawn Dr., Matthews, N.C. 28104.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, on Thursday, October 27, 2022, in The Maple Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625.
