Edsel Wardlaw
June 18, 1932- May 19, 2022
Edsel Wardlaw, of Pendleton, entered the presence of Jesus on Thursday, May 19, 2022. He was 89 years old.
He was the son of late Henry Wardlaw and Ruth Wheeler. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barbara Wardlaw. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Wardlaw. His only son, Stanley Wardlaw, also preceded him in death.
He was a loving grandfather to his three grandchildren: Denver (Mandy) Wardlaw, Amy (Joshua) Johnson, and Nate (Ashley) Wardlaw. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Teresa Wardlaw, 7 great-grandchildren, a stepdaughter, 3 step-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
Edsel is also survived by his 2 sisters, and 1 brother.
Edsel retired from La France Industries in the 1980s where he held the position of a supervisor. He was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. He loved to read his Bible and work crossword puzzles. Edsel will always be remembered as a godly example to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
