Obituary for Eddie Loftis
(Eddie Loftis) Eddie Reed Loftis, 81, husband of Linda Loftis, of Anderson, died Sunday, February 19, 2023, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Anderson, on April 15, 1941, he was a son of the late Robert Reed Loftis and the late Gladys Goldsmith Loftis.
Eddie retired after a 36-year career with Collins Entertainment/Coin Music. He was also the bartender for the V.F.W. on Hwy 29 North for nearly 30 years and was a Mason and member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge # 68 in Anderson. He also attended Gethsemane Baptist Temple in Starr.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Davis Loftis, sons, Eddie Loftis (Monica), Johnny Loftis (Kaela), grandchildren; Samantha Loftis, Abigail Loftis and Kayslee Loftis, as well as his brothers, Bill Loftis, and PeeWee Loftis (Pat Ervin).
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert “Pulley” Loftis.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Rev. Sam Duncan will officiate, and burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends, at The Standard, prior to the service, from 1:30pm – 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, S.C. 29605.
