Obituary for Earl L. "Bill" Stamps
Earl Lewis “Bill” Stamps, 88, husband of Joyce Watson Stamps, of Anderson, died Thursday, July 21, 2022, at The Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Anderson, on December 26, 1933, he was a son of the late Dan Porter Stamps and the late Grace Franks Stamps.
Bill retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas after 30 years service. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of Rocky River Baptist Church in Iva, S.C.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Watson Stamps, his daughter, Lisa Stamps Slice (Mike), his grandson, Tanner Slice, and his special niece, Kay Kelly Koffel.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Gene Rodney Stamps, and his sister, Bobbie Sue Stamps Kelly.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, on Monday, July 25, 2022, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Rev. Tom Owen will officiate, and burial will take place, at a later date, at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, at The Standard, prior to the service, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rocky River Baptist Church, 3234 Lake Secession Rd., Iva, S.C. 29655 or to Hospice of The Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29621.
