Obituary for Doug Wilson
(Doug Wilson) Douglas Maxs Wilson, 73, husband of Janice Shavon Wilson of Anderson, died Monday, March 15, 2021 at his residence.
Born in Anderson on April 6, 1947, he was one of the 12 children of George W. Wilson and Louise Mitchell Wilson.
Doug was retired from the automotive industry as a detailer. He was a very caring person who loved to spend time with his family and friends. Nothing made him happier than to see someone smile and laugh! He had a heart of gold and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife of 51yrs, Janice Shavon Wilson, daughters, Lynn Sanders (Chris) and Diane Powell (Doug) and his grandchildren, Conner Sanders, Camden Sanders, Taylor Powell Upton (Noah), Sommer Powell and Sophia Powell.
He is also survived by his remaining siblings, Junior Wilson (Barbara), Bobbie Sanderson, Sue Bolt, Freddy Wilson, Ralph Wilson (Tina), and Judy Lamb Cullipher (Lawrence).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Howard, Hoyt, Donald, and Tommy Wilson and Linda Hutchins.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 4:00pm in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd. Anderson, SC 29625. Rev. Mike Harrell will officiate.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service.
Social distancing is to be observed and face masks are optional.
