Obituary for Duane Scarborough

Duane Scarborough
September 2, 1965 – November 7, 2022

Douglas Duane Scarborough, 57, husband of Tammy LeCroy Scarborough, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 7, 2022, at his home.

Born in California, he was a son of the late Fred Manning Scarborough and the late Judy Ellis Scarborough.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Lauren Neese (Adrian), Kelsey Wyndham (Tanner) & Bryce Scarborough, his grandson, Clark Neese, siblings, Audrey Cowell (Wayne), Annette Clark (Jim), Lisa Wilson (Randall) & Bobby Scarborough (Wendi). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and his beloved fur babies, Shadow & Sadie Mae.

To know Duane was to love him and those who were fortunate enough knew that he loved his family more than anything. His three children were his pride and joy and he was so proud of each of them. A hard worker and provider, he spent over 38 years in manufacturing and was semiretired from Michelin PRIME.

He also had two other great loves. Duane’s first claim to fame was holding state records in power lifting. 20 years were spent with hard work, determination, and training for those records. His second love was his love for the Carolina Gamecocks. Through the good and bad, he never faltered with the battle cry “Forever to thee.”

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, November 11, 2022, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625. Rev. Kurt Stutler will officiate.

Visitation will take place prior to the service in The Maple Room of The Standard from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.

To honor Duane, the family asks, if at all possible, for attendees to dress in garnet and black.

The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center is serving the Scarborough family and a message of condolence may be sent by visiting www.standardfuneralcenter.com.
