Obituary for Doris Fowler

Doris Fowler, age 65, of Williamston, SC passed away surrounded by her three children at her side at Laurens County Hospital on Thursday, December 31, 2020.

Doris was born to Arthur and Jackie Cartwright on December 21, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Doris’s talents were many before and after her battle with chronic illness. She was a talented crafter, quilter, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, community volunteer, and friend who loved to entertain.

Everyone who met her felt welcomed and loved her personality and sense of humor. She always thought of others first, whether in thought or deed.

She was one of the most giving people you could meet and was a great example to her children and grandchildren of what unconditional love, family, and generosity looked like.

She loved the Lord and followed Christ in her love for others and the way she treated them. She was a praying woman who valued others.

She has left her children with so many moments that they will hold in their hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Cartwright.

She is survived by her mother, Jackie Cartwright; children and spouses, Renae & Dean Luketic, Rebecca & Cory Marchbanks, and Daniel Fowler; her siblings, Ralph Cartwright, Gloria Cartwright, and Angie Couey; her grandchildren, Caleb & Murphy Luketic, Isaac Marchbanks, and Levi Marchbanks; her great-granddaughters, Joanna Luketic and soon to be born, Daisy Luketic; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will begin receiving friends at 1:00 pm at Gethsemane Baptist Temple, 6116 Old Hwy 81 S, Starr, SC 29684, followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2021, with Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park
