Donna E. Fillingham
June 4, 1952 – February 20, 2023

On February 20, 2023, heaven gained one of the most amazing individuals. Donna E. Fillingham, 70, of Anderson passed away of natural causes.

Donna was the devoted wife of Jim Fillingham for 22 years, the loving mother of Nathan Zimmerman, Kirstie Erskine, Susan Fillingham and Sherry Elwell. She was the adoring grandmother of Alex, Jac and Lindy. Donna is also survived by her brothers, PJ, Chris, and her sister, Darlene.

Donna was born and raised in northern California. While living in California, Donna became the California State Champion in bowling. She was an advocate for children. Her accomplishments include, creating the local Latch Key Program, having speed bumps installed for neighborhood safety, and removing inappropriate toys and materials from the eyes of children.

After moving to Anderson South Carolina, Donna became an advocate for her community and her faith. Donna owned and operated Open Arms Ministries in Belton. She was a joy to all that entered the ministry. She assisted with families in need and provided comfort to people who needed it most. Donna also volunteered with the Anderson Free Clinic, she was devoted to her faith and her church family. Donna devoted her life to helping others and showing love through her smile and her faith.

Donna was an inspiration and a joy to everyone she ever met. Many will remember her as the one with the hat. Donna showed her wonderful personality through her eccentric choice of hats and purses. Donna touched so many lives in her 70 years and will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

The family will host a celebration of Donna’s life at 2:00 pm at her church, Grace Episcopal Church, 711 S. McDuffie St. Anderson SC, on Saturday February 25, 2023. Visitation with family and friends will be from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm and a service will follow.
