Obituary for Donald N. Sanders

(Donald N. Sanders) Donald Nevitte Sanders, 80, husband of Norma Evatt Sanders, Lebanon Community, died Saturday, June 11, 2022, at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Donald was born and raised in the Lebanon Community of Anderson County and was a son of the late Elbert Nevitte Sanders, and the late Nannie Louise Campbell Sanders.

He graduated from Pendleton High School in 1961, and then served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. After his time in the service, he started a career with Clemson University as a farm manager at Cherry Crossing at Fort Hill on the campus. He would serve in this capacity until his retirement. He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church since childhood, and was also a member of the Pendleton American Legion Post 113.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Evatt Sanders, sister, Mary Louise Sanders White (Donnie), and his nieces and nephews, Amanda Louise White, Donny Nevitte White (Shelly), Ashley Hammett, Andy Hammett, and Tanya Danette Sanders.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Angie Evatt Hammett (Robert).

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Wanda Lynn Sanders, and his brother, Daniel Jerry Sanders.

A graveside funeral, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery, 5150 Gentry Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29621. Rev. Barry Robinson and Rev. Harry Warren will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lebanon Baptist Church.
