Obituary for David Maley

David Maley, 60, of Anderson, SC peacefully passed away at home following a lengthy battle with cancer on August 2, 2020.

David was born in Cicero, IL on October 10, 1959. He graduated high school in Alexandria, IN, was a member of the snare drum line for “The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps”, Rosemont, IL and then received a bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering from Purdue University ‘83. He worked on large industrial projects nationally and internationally as an engineer, project manager and project director. He enjoyed fast cars, motorcycles and boats, but especially his Porsche 911. David had lots of fun fishing for 10 years in the Bear Creek Bass Club and annual fishing trips with his brother Brad. He liked all forms of racing, making new recipes in the kitchen and sharing his recipes.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 39 years, Rosita Maley, mother Louise Maley of McCordsville, IN, brother Brad Maley and Leslie Hankins of Indianapolis, IN. Additional family included Anette Pritchard, Peachtree City, GA, Kim Pritchard, Ankey, IA, Marc & Gini Wallace, New York, NY, Arlene Kowalski, West Dundee, IL, his extended WV family and multiple good friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather Ed Maley, father Mike Maley and his dog Ellie, a special English Springer Spaniel.

A celebration of David’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
