Obituary for David Loudin

David Earnest Loudin, 75, of Anderson, S.C., got his wings, November 18, 2022.

David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carrie Meek Loudin, granddaughters; Kristen Loudin Earhart (spouse-Jacob Tieler), of Leesville, S.C., Lacey Loudin of Anderson, step-granddaughter, Cadence Buckwald of Greenwood, S.C., grandson, Zachary Loudin of Anderson, step-grandson, Brewer Buckwald of Greenwood, S.C., and great-grandchildren, Madelynn Rae and Jacob Bain Earhart of Leesville, S.C.

He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Erion of Raleigh, N.C., and a host of family, nieces, nephews, and friends that he loved.

David was very proud of going to Ohio State and telling everyone that he was born a Buckeye Fan and would die a Buckeye fan! He was a U.S. Veteran and served in the Ohio National Guard for 6 years. He received his master’s degree in Computer Science from Webster University in Greenville, S.C., and taught at Greenville Tech, Anderson University, and ECPI for several years before retiring.

He spent many years working and running Cutting Tool Factories. David is known around Anderson and surrounding areas as The Gunsmith of Anderson. He has been repairing guns for over 50 years and loved his time in the shop chatting with his many customers.

David was a Master Mason, Shriner, and a proud 50-year member of the Greenville Elks Lodge 858 in Greenville, S.C. He was a member of The Union Grove United Methodist Church.

The family will hold a memorial service at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Union Grove United Methodist Church, Hwy 29 N, Belton, SC 29627.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Union Grove United Methodist Church, 3332 Highway 29 N., Belton, S.C. 29627.
