Obituary for Dot Wilson

Dartha Sue “Dot” Wilson, 90, of 103 “P” Street, Anderson, passed away peacefully, August 6, 2022, at the home of her great-niece, surrounded by the ones who loved her dearly.

She was born, June 26, 1932, in the Shoals Creek Community of Hart County, Georgia, and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Anderson.

Surviving is her baby brother, Walter Wayne Wilson (Sarah) of Anderson.

She was predeceased by her three brothers, William Doc Wilson Jr. (Mary), Hershell Ray “Pop” Wilson (Betty), Ben Harold “Big Ben” Wilson (Brenda), and her mother and father, Cecil Mary Wilson, and William Doc Wilson Sr.

She had nine nieces and nephews, sixteen great-nieces and nephews and twelve great-great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, August 11, 2022, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Rev. Julian Crowe and Rev. Jimmy Cash will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends, at The Standard, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, on Wednesday evening, August 10th.

A special thanks for the kind, loving and awesome care of Interim Health Hospice, her nurses, Iish Berry and Neil Marshall, her aid Donna Hatcher, and her social worker, Zackery Freeman. This group of healthcare professionals were wonderful to the family through rough times near the end of her life.

Memorial donations may be made to Interim Hospice, Alzheimer’s Association, The American Cancer Society, or to the American Heart Association.
