Daniel Davis, 85, husband of the late Jane Davis, of Anderson, died Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Greer Memorial Hospital in Greer, S.C.
Dan retired from I.B.M. Corporation and also retired from the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army Reserves. He served during Operation Desert Storm. He was an active member of Concord Baptist Church in Anderson, where he was a former deacon, volunteered with the Good News Club, and at Christmastime, he always looked forward to helping with Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child. Dan was also well known at Concord Baptist Church as consistently passing out candy to adults and children. He was known as the “Candy Man”!
He is survived by his children, Holly Nickleach, Kathy Foley (Richard), Jonathan Davis, Jerry Harrell (Stephanie), and Kevin Harrell, sister, Trisha Beach, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sisters, Rikki Kroepelin and Kathy Pickle.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, January 13, 2023, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29621. Rev. Bob Marcaurelle will officiate, and burial will follow at a later date, at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, at The Standard, prior to the service, from 12:30pm – 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
