Obituary for Charles Singleton

Charles “Ed” Singleton, 80, husband of CarylAnn H. Singleton, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2021 at AnMed Health.
Born in Belton, SC, on November 18, 1940, Charles was the son of the late Charles W. Singleton and Christine Kelly Singleton. At a young age, Charles moved with his family to California and became a part of the 1958 graduating class of Fullerton Union High School. Upon receiving his high school diploma, Charles enrolled at Cal Poly Pomona and earned his bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
Charles began his engineering career at Richfield Oil and later Haughton Elevator, both in Los Angeles. Later, he was hired by Hydro Aire in Burbank and after a short period of time, started his job as a department manager for Textron where he worked until his retirement. Charles was a hands-on type of guy and excelled in the Aerospace field. In doing so, he had the opportunity to work on the Hydraulics of many space shuttles before flight.
Charles was known for being the life of the party. He enjoyed the company of others and made sure that everyone had a good time around him. Some of his favorite interest were cars, boats, and even water skiing. Charles was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by his three daughters, Lisa Hartwick of Arizona, Kristine Singleton of California, and Terrie Singleton of California. He was also survived by his grandson, Jake Shirley of California, and a sister, Gail with husband Ken Dick, of Illinois.
