Obituary for Cecil Burdette
(Cecil Burdette) Cecil Melvin Burdette, 81, of Pendleton, S.C., died Friday, November 25, 2022, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Westminster, S.C., on February 26, 1941, he was a son of the late Astor Burdette, and the late Louise Simpson Burdette.
He retired from LaFrance Industries, and later worked at Portman Marina. He was an “pool shark” and played up until his death.
He is survived by his son, Brad Burdette (Melissa), two grandchildren, Hunter Burdette, and Amber Whitten (Randall), and great-grandchildren, Jeremy Boyle, Carrigan Whitten, Kierstein Whitten, Kaitlyn Whitten, and Kinsley Whitten.
He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann Clark.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Nancy Walters, and Betty Richards.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, December 1, 2022, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Rev. Mark Duncan will officiate.
The family will receive friends, at The Standard, prior to the service, from 2:00pm – 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, S.C. 29605.
