Calvin Heaton
August 17, 1942 - April 28, 2022
Calvin Douglas Heaton, 79, of Anderson, SC, passed away surrounded by family and friends on April 28, 2022.
Calvin was a son of the late Ossie and Corine Heaton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Cleve Heaton and Lafoy Heaton, and his beloved dog, Angel.
He is survived by his best-friend, his spouse of 61-years, Shirley Hanvey Heaton, son, Doug (Lisa), grandchildren; Jennifer, (Zachary) and Holly. He is also survived by his 2 great-grandchildren, Alexander and Charlotte, his brothers, Gene Heaton and William Heaton (Cathy) and his sister, Barbara Driggers (Ermon).
He was the proud business owner of MEC, in the local textile industry, and a former vice-president at Seabrook Inc. In addition to his business ownership, he was also a Shriner, Mason, and a proud member of the Covenant Baptist Church.
In his retirement he enjoyed, sitting out on his back porch listening to the birds, with an ice-cold drink, watching the Atlanta Braves on TV.
Calvin lived a life that was full of joy, and happiness. He was humorous, witty, and clever. He loved his family fiercely; his loss is immeasurable but so is the love left behind. “There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they have gone, a light remains.”
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 1:00pm in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625. Rev. Steve Silvey will officiate. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in The Maple Room of The Standard prior to the service from 12:00-1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local Humane Society.
