Obituary for Betty Moon
(Betty Moon) Belton, S.C. Betty Bannister Moon, 77, wife of David Moon, of Belton, S.C., died Friday, July 1, 2022, at her home.
Born in Belton, on May 9, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Herman Lee Bannister, and the late, Doris Cox Bannister.
Betty was a graduate of both Anderson College and Clemson University, where she earned a degree in education. She was employed for 25 years by Anderson School District 1, as a fourth-grade teacher at Palmetto Primary School in Williamston, S.C. She was a member of Belton First Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she was a member of the King’s Daughters Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband, David Moon, son, Brian Moon (Tammy), grandchildren; Jennifer Schantz (Brandon), Chase Moon (Ashlynn), and Heather Takach, and her great-grandchildren, Corbin and Wade Schantz, and Evelynn Moon.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Joey Moon, and her brother, Larry Lee Bannister.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm, on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Diary Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Rev. Nick Kirby will officiate, and burial will follow at The Garden of Memories in Belton.
The family will receive friends, at The Standard, prior to the service, from 11:00am – 12:00pm.
