Obituary for Betty Finley Hall

Betty Hall
April 16, 1942- April 28, 2024

Betty Ruth Jane Finley Hall, age 82, went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 28, 2024, in the presence of her daughters.

Mrs. Hall was born in Seneca, South Carolina to the late Hessie and Carl Finley. She sent her formative years growing up as the youngest of five siblings in Seneca before marrying her high school sweetheart. They enjoyed 63 long years of marriage and raised two daughters. After living in many different states through the years, Ray and Betty settled in Hartwell, Georgia in 2002 where they spent their retirement.

Betty loved spending time with family, was an avid golfer and loved the outdoors. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she worked as an architectural draftsperson and was a self-taught computer guru. She loved all sorts of crafts, including painting ceramics and needlepoint. Betty loved spending time hiking and camping. She inherited a love of nature from her parents which was evident by the full birdfeeders and thriving plants both inside and outside of their home.

Surviving, are two daughters, Donna Black (John) and Connie Head (Russell); four grandchildren, Brandon Sexton (Corwin Weskamp), Lindsay Wood (Derrick), Donald John Head (April Martinez), Kevin Head (Austin); three great-grandchildren, Greta Sexton, Nico Sexton, and Griffin Wood; one brother, Jerry Finley (Margaret), one sister, Lou Pearson (Dwight), one sister-in-law Marina Finley, two brothers-in-law, William R. Hall and Charlie T Hall, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Donald Ray Hall (2022), her loving parents, her brothers, James Nelson Finley (1955), Jesse Moore Finley (2015), and her sister, Josephine Finley Wood (2022).

The family would like to thank the staff at North Pointe Assisted Living for the love, compassion, and encouragement they gave to our mother and our family over the past year and a half and AVIA Hospice for their support in her final days.

While our hearts are broken, we know she is no longer in pain, and happy to be reunited with her beloved husband, Ray.
