Obituary for Betty Brock Crate
Betty Jean Brock Crate, 87, of Anderson, South Carolina, widow of Gordon Richard Crate, went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
Born in Honea Path, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late Frank Madison Brock and the late Margie Traynham Brock.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin D. Brock and a nephew, Ricky Brock.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Crate Stoddard and husband Brian Stoddard of Anderson, SC, two granddaughters, Anna Kathryn Stoddard Strom and husband Carson Strom of Florence, SC and Madison Raye Stoddard of Clemson, SC, a brother, Jerry Dean Brock of Orangeburg, SC and a special niece, Tracey Ray and husband Ricky Ray of Anderson, SC.
Betty enjoyed a fulfilling career as an executive secretary to several plant managers at Clark Schwebel Fiberglass. After retirement she and Gordon enjoyed traveling and socializing with friends from New Prospect. She also volunteered at several local nonprofits.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 23, 2022, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation and Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625. Rev. Tom Turner will officiate.
The family will speak with guests following the service.
