Obituary for Bessie Ruth Tollison
Bessie Ruth Tollison went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
She is the daughter of the late King Silas and Jessie (Chandler) Tollison.
She is survived by her sister, Jeroldine Tollison of the home, brother Harry (Tennie) Tollison of Fairplay, niece, Anna Tollison, and nephews, Stephen Tollison and Nathan Tollison (Julie).
She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by sisters Jeanette McAlister, Lucille Long, Jessie and Victoria Tollison. Brothers Eugene, Marvin, KS, Victor, and Ralph Tollison.
She worked at F. W. Woolworth for 12 years then stayed home to take care of her family. She is a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Anderson.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 19, 2023, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Pastor Ray Arnett will officiate, and burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Brian Cox, Andrew Tollison, Mark Tollison, David Cox, Jonathan Cox, Russel Hollis.
The family will receive friends, at The Standard, prior to the service, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm.
Flowers are optional. Memorial donations may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church 1500 E. Calhoun St., Anderson, S.C. 29621.
