Bennett Alan Brooks
September 20, 1960 – January 28, 2023
Bennett Alan Brooks, 62, of Belton, SC, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
Born on September 20, 1960, he was the son of Racine Webb Owings and the late William I. (Bill) Brooks.
Benny was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Allen and Louise Kelly Webb of Belton and Truman Herman and Gladys Saylors Brooks of Belton. His stepfather Joe Thomas Owings, his sisters Sally Brooks Moorhead and JoBeth Owings Ouzts; also his cousin Matt Brooks.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Brooks of Williamston; daughter Alana Brooks and grandson Connor Brooks of Charleston. He is also survived by his sisters Melissa Brooks of California; Vicki Brooks Miller of Anderson and Laurie Brooks Helman (Joey) of Belton. Also many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
In Addition he is survived by his stepsisters Barbara Owings Lanier (Alton) of Simpsonville, Gloria Owings Ivey (George) of Texas, Phyllis Owings Emerine of John’s Island; stepbrother Steve Owings (Margaret) of Greenwood.
Benny was a mason, a member of Latimer Memorial United Methodist Church, graduate of Belton-Honea Path High School class of 1978 of which he remained an avid supporter of the BHP Bears, and a graduate of Greenville Technical College. He was also a proud fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves. He was the owner and operator of Piedmont Dental Services and proudly served the upstate for over 30 years. He was known for his ability to repair any and all things broken, and his unique sense of humor. He could be found playing golf, fishing, hunting and spending quality time with his beloved family.
The family is at their respective homes and will gather at a later date to honor his memory.
