Obituary for Steve Sears
Benjamin Steve Sears went to his eternal home to meet his heavenly Father on Monday, September 5 after a long battle with cancer. Steve was a loyal and faithful member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. He was a member of the Grace S.S. Class and held multiple positions throughout the years – deacon, usher, S.S. teacher, RA leader, etc.
Born in Anderson County on January 26, 1957, Steve was the son of the late Benjamin Oliver and Frances Roper Sears. Steve received his bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and was an avid Clemson fan. Steve loved his Lord and Savior and had a strong desire to see others saved. Even during his battle with cancer he mailed out tracts and always thought of others.
Surviving are his wife, Lynn Green Sears, sons: Michael Steven Sears (Jessica) and Zachary Allen Sears, grandchildren: Lane Owen Sears and Ellis Hope Sears. Sisters: Cathi Laughridge of Anderson and Christi Blair of Pendleton. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by a grandson, Everett Michael Sears. Steve was a beloved husband, Dad, and Papa.

A funeral service will be held at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church on Friday, September 9 at 3:30pm with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm on Thursday, September 8 at The Standard Cremation and Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC.
