Obituary for Pat Shull

Pat Shull
November 28, 1941 - November 24, 2020

Becky Patricia Shull, 78, died at her home on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.

An icon of community theatre in the Upstate of South Carolina, Pat graduated from Columbia College where she traveled with the Piedmont Performers performing The Lost Colony.

She has directed hundreds of plays and musicals in the Upstate and performed in so many more.

Her friend, Beverly Henderson, contributed this beautiful tribute to let the world know who Pat Shull was.

"She was a wonderful friend…she supported and encouraged me…she brought out the best in me…and even got me on stage a few times. Sometimes we had different ideas about direction or music, but she never ever judged me or forced her opinions on me. She had a magical way of making me see that she knew exactly what needed to be done. And she was right! She was a brilliant director! Anyone who has ever worked with Pat Shull can tell you that!

She was loving and real. She was an encourager, an inspiration, a fighter. She was an unbelievably talented artist, writer, actress, director.. a defender of those in need, a lover of animals…any animal. She was a dear friend. I loved Pat so much and it’s comforting to know that she will always be in my heart. I am better for knowing her.

"Loss of a friendship through death is a cruel and cold companion. Warmth is found through fond memories...so curl up with them whenever you need to." I plan to curl up for quite a while. I love you, my dear friend."

Her friends will be hosting a memorial service at 3:00 pm Saturday, November 28, 2020 (her birthday) at South Main Chapel and Mercy Center, 2408 S. Main Street, Anderson, SC 29624. Kurt Stutler will officiate.
