Obituary for Barbara Johnson
-Honea Path, SC -- Barbara Owens Johnson, 87 wife of Frank Johnson Jr, went to be with Jesus on January 25, 2021 at NHC Healthcare in Anderson.
Born in Anderson County SC, she was a daughter of the late Barney Avery and Lessie Lee Pearson Owens, a retired textile employee, and a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Frank Johnson Jr of 63 years, her children Tony (Deedee) Johnson, Kim (Jeff) Smith, Keith Johnson, and Chris (Melissa) Johnson, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her only sibling of 11 children, sister: Jessie Owens “Harris” Donald.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at NHC of Anderson for their loving care and service.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 2:00pm in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd. Anderson, SC 29625. Burial at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30pm – 2:00pm.
Social distancing is to be observed and face masks are required at all events.
