Obituary for Ann Waldrop

Ann C. Waldrop went to her Heavenly Home on August 6, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Ann was born in Oconee County, S.C., on July 21, 1941, the eldest daughter of the late Harold and Georgia Callaham.

Ann attended Oconee elementary and middle schools, where she was a cheerleader, and was a graduate of Oakway High School, Class of 1960, and Carolina School of Commerce (now Forrest College), in 1962. She did secretarial duties, bookkeeping, owned her own medical transcription service, and always produced prompt, accurate work. She was also a cloth inspector in the textile industry for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jimmy, and sister Linda.

Ann is survived by her husband of almost 61 years, and he was her caregiver for her last years. She is also survived by her nieces Tammy Jones (Tony) and April Wells (Donovan), as well as numerous cousins, her “angels” from Agape Hospice, April, Anna, Ashley, Dana, Lani, Kitty, Mary Beth, Ray, and Sam, Windy from Home Instead, and special friends and neighbors, Lisa, Tom, Sharrel, Michael, Jill, and Vickie.

Ann was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class of the church.

Her soft voice and radiant smile will be greatly missed by all who knew this gracious lady.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 2323 Hwy 81 N., Anderson, S.C. 29621. Rev. Beverly Crowe Tipton will officiate.

The family will speak to attendees following the graveside service.
