Obituary for Angie Phillips

Angela (Angie) Wilson Phillips
July 12, 1972 – December 15, 2020

No sorrow. No burdens. No sickness. No pain. The lyrics you sang with conviction and anointing, the testimonies you shared, the hope that you spoke into so many lives… the very second your heartbeat ceased at 5:24 am on Tuesday, December 15, 2020; the reality of eternal life began.

Donnie and Gail Wilson welcomed you into the world on Wednesday, July 12, 1972. Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou came forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” A warrior from the very beginning, the enemy recognized the magnitude of your anointing and tried to take your life. BUT GOD miraculously healed your tiny body and answered Mama and Daddy’s prayers. You brought joy and laughter to your grandparents, Wilbur and Betty Wilson and Rev. Furman and Mildred West. You loved them all but shared an extra special bond with Papa West! You were his girl and the apple of his eye!

Saturday, July 31, 1993, you walked down the aisle at Mt. Pisgah Church of God of Prophecy to your soulmate, Scott. Before family, friends, and God, to have and to hold, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part; you pledged your love forever! Together, with God at the center of your marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Kevin Phillips, embarked on an incredible journey. That afternoon, you became the daughter-in-love of Morris and Laura Ann Phillips and sister-in-love of Tony Phillips. Nothing could separate what God had brought together…
not bad hair days… not tear soaked pillows… not infertility… not unanswered prayers. For 9,999 days (27 years, 4 months and 15 days) the two of you kept your vows to each other and never gave up!

Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” On Tuesday, December 6, 2011 your lifelong dream of being a Mom was “officially” fulfilled as the family court judge signed the Adoption Decree for Christie Ann and Isaiah Shane Phillips! Your “chosen children” that were wrapped in love from God, just for you! 1 Samuel 1:27 – “For this child I have prayed.” Your prayers were answered and the Phillips Family was complete!

Long before God answered your prayers to be a mom, you were “Aunt Angie” to Isaac and Levi and your cupcake, Adyson Ann.

You were a “mother” to many and your influence has no doubt changed lives that you never even realized you touched.

An only child, you met your “sister”, Jen Brady, by divine appointment, on a Sunday night in March 2008. You quickly became “Gigi” to Javon, Savannah, Michael, Art and Larry.

Anointed, family harmony shaped your childhood. Music and ministry were woven in your DNA and remained a part of every season of your life. The Wilson Family, Joyful Praise, The Grissops, Heart of Worship and The Bradys are just a few of the ministries God allowed you to be a part of. You led many to Christ and prayed with many others in the alters. You were a child of God and He was first in your life! You gave your all each and every time you stepped onto the platform, in spite of the physical pain that you struggled with every day!

“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so, he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil, all the days of her life. Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land. Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all. Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.” Proverbs 31

A godly virtuous woman... a daughter, wife, daughter-in-love, mother, aunt, niece, cousin, sister, loyal friend, prayer warrior, an anointed vocalist and communicator of the gospel. You finished your race and you finished well. You heard the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant… WELCOME TO HEAVEN, MY CHILD!”

The family will host a memorial service on December 20, 2020 at Cornerstone Community Church, 8003 Old Greenville Hwy., Easley, SC 29642. The family will receive friends and family beginning at 2:30 p.m. with the service following at 4:00 p.m.
