Obituary for Andy Shore

Andrew “Andy” Brown Shore, 63, husband of Margaret A. Shore, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Summit Place of Anderson.

Andy was born on September 1, 1958, in Anderson, SC, to David Lee Shore and the late Betty J. Campbell, both of Anderson, SC.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Lee Shore, Jr., grandparents, Kinard & Eva Brown, and John B. & Margaret Deanhardt Shore.

He was a member of Asaville Baptist Church in Anderson, SC, and previously attended NewSpring Church and Middleton Road Baptist Church where he was a deacon and had an active role with the youth.

Andy graduated from Crescent High School in 1976 and attended Horry-Georgetown Tech in Myrtle Beach, SC. He worked in lawn care for most of his life and held a management position with Home Depot in Anderson. He also proudly served as mayor for the town of Starr, SC.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hiking, hunting, and working in the yard. He was also a collector of guns and knives. Most importantly, Andy was a loving son, brother, father, “G’pa”, husband and stepfather.

His greatest joys were his grandchildren, Danni Rae, Gracyn, Drue Ann, Klaydi and Joshua Drake. Andy held a special place in his heart for all his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and some lifelong friends; Rick Carter, Fred Workman, Mike McKee, Brad Simpson, Dennis Brown, Bruce Lampright and Rob Gentry.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret A. Shore, father, David Lee Shore (Nancy), son, Kaleb Shore (Rachel), daughter, Amber Crisp (Jason), stepdaughter, Rebecca Chatfield (Allen) of Martinez, GA, and his precious grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Asaville Baptist Church, 201 Asaville Church Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
