Adrienne Hartzog
September 3, 1958- September 25, 2022
Adrienne Virginia “Ginger” Hartzog Owen entered into Eternal Rest on September 25, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Born on September 3, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Adrienne Brabham and Jack Allen Hartzog of Denmark, South Carolina. Ginger was a resident of Honea Path, SC spending her last weeks in the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Survivors include her beloved friend and ex-husband Bill (Dawn) Owen, sons, Anthony Owen of Springfield, SC and Russell Owen of Denmark, SC; daughter Virginia Sullivan (Charles) and grandsons, Chandler, Clayton, and Carter of Honea Path, SC, one Aunt, Mary Brabham Rivers of Denmark, SC and a host of cousins and friends across the state. Ginger was predeceased by her brother, Michael Allen Hartzog.
Ginger grew up on the family farm and developed a profound love of plants and animals. This was reflected in a lifelong interest in her hobbies of gardening and painting. She attended Jefferson Davis Academy, Blackville High School and USC- Salkehatchie Campus. She was a member of the Hilda Southern Methodist Church and former member of garden clubs in Denmark and Hampton.
A drop-in will be held at the home of Virginia and Charles Sullivan on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 4:00-6:00. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11:00 at Hilda Southern Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621, or Hilda Southern Methodist Church, 228 Old Salem Road, Hilda, SC 29812.
